A few days ago we reported that Acer had begun rolling out the next version of Android, 4.0.3 also known as Ice-Cream Sandwich, to A200 users. Today word got out about the impending update for the A500.
Acer let it slip on their Australia and New Zealand Facebook page that A500 users could expect the update somewhere in April, which is still over a month and a half away. It’s good to know that users will definitely get it, but some are disappointed as the A500 has been available since May 2011, leaving a long time for Acer to prepare the update. Users in other regions may get the update sooner, but we wouldn’t get our hopes up if we were you.
