HTC and Sprint have announced the HTC Evo 4G LTE smartphone at a joint event today. There were expectations of the One X coming to the carrier but instead a Evo 4G LTE has been announced.
Interestingly, the Evo 4G features the same hardware as of the One XL which will be coming to AT&T with its powerful Snapdragon S4 chipset. The smartphone seems to have a new design with cool looking bold red accents and a flip-out kickstand.
Surprisingly no one had expected HTC to launch a LTE device for Sprint since the Sprint’s LTE network is still in the growing phase.
The HTC Evo 4G LTE is the first smartphone to feature the HD Voice technology which brings increased voice call clarity.
The device goes on pre-order May 7 and will be available by the end of this quarter. You will get the device at Sprint for $200 on-contract.
