News: Motorola launch their first phones for 2012, MOTOLUXE and DEFY MINI

Motorola just launched its first phones for 2012, the MOTOLUXE and the rugged DEFY MINI. These two are mid-range handsets running Android Gingerbread aimed for budget conscious users.

Motorola MOTOLUXE, has already been available in China for a while. It comes with a 4″ LCD of FWVGA resolution (854 x 480 pixels) and an 800 MHz Scorpion CPU, which will do the job just well for casual users and being an Snapdragon chipset it will  run most if not all the apps out there. Connectivity is nicely covered here with 7.2Mbps HSDPA, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB and a 3.5mm audio jack. For the multimedia fans, it offers an 8 megapixel camera and DivX support. The onboard storage is a meager 512MB, and there’s no mention of a microSD card but we thinks its there for sure. MOTOLUXE is expected to come to Europe and Latin America starting in February, but there’s no details on the pricing on the smartphone.

The other device to be launched by Motorola is called Motorola DEFY MINI and, as the name would suggest is a more compact version of the popular Motorola DEFY. It comes with a 3.2″ HVGA display with Gorilla Glass and offers water and dust resistance. The Motorola DEFY MINI is powered by a 600 MHz CPU and has 512MB of RAM. It offers a decently geared connectivity suite – dual-band 3G with HSDPA, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack. It offers a modest 3 megapixel main shooter and an VGA front-facing camera.Motorola DEFY MINI is expected to be available in China under the name Motorola XT320 and in select countries in Europe and Latin America starting in February but there’s no information yet on how much its going to cost. Do these smartphones from Motorola excite you ?
