After Research In Motion slashed prices of BlackBerry PlayBook, it’s Motorola Xoom’s turn now. Motorola’s Xoom was the first tablet to run on Android’s Honeycomb. However, it could not get much attention in India, also because of its pricing, which was a bit too high and also because of Motorola’s popularity. But now, Motorola has reworked on its pricing for the Indian market and this substantial price cut may help the Xoom’s fate a little.
According to reports, the Wi-Fi 32GB version is now priced at Rs 21,500 on Koovs, while the Wi-Fi+ 3G version is available for Rs 25,000. Flipkart is selling the Wi-Fi + 3G version for Rs 26,850.
Xoom comes with a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor and 1GB of RAM. The device has a 10.1-inch display, full support for 1080p video playback, and an HDMI slot as well. The device currently runs Honeycomb but will soon get an Ice Cream Sandwich update as promised by Motorola last year.
We say, it is a good buy at the price, however prices should have been cut a little further.
