Orange UK introduced its first self-branded tablet in Europe last year andhas now announced the Tahiti, a budget tablet launched today in the UK.
The 7-inch tablet is Orange-branded, although it’s made by Huawei, with a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera, and Android 3.2. The major draw, however, will probably be its aggressive price point — it’s £69.99 (about $108) with a two-year contract. But, the contract itself is a bit pricey, at £25 for 2GB of data, 1GB of which can only be used on off-peak hours. It also comes bundled free with the two-year data plan when buying the smartphone, allowing 2GB of data to be shared between phone and tablet for £41 a month.
