Intel’s Medfield has been coming a long way, originally intended to power MeeGo handsets, it now powers but a few Android devices after being announced at CES last month.
Orange have quietly announced the Santa Clara, their first commercial smartphone powered by Medfield. Specifications seem fitting; a it’s powered by a 1,6GHz single core Medfield processor, a 4-inch display with a 1024×600 resolution ensures crisp images and the 8MP camera on the back ensures that those images are captured.
It is capable of recording 1080p videos which can be viewed on an external display thanks to the HDMI-out view MHL, it also features HSPA+ at 21MBps and NFC. No word on availability nor on pricing yet, but we’ll keep you updated when we know more.
