As reports have suggested earlier, Samsung’s Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note will get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich by the end of the first quarter of 2012. A post on Samsung Norway’s Facebook page has confirmed that it is coming in March, which leaves only two more months before we get to see ICS on both powerhouse phones. Both the devices will be among the first to get updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
While its worth noting that the update probably will come for the International versions first, there’s no hint on when the US variants will get the awaited update. The Galaxy Note is expected to be available in US on Feb 19th, so the update for US devices might come a bit later. We do, however, expect it to be soon after the international release.
The Ice Cream Sandwich update will bring lots of new features to the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note, including a new task manager, better notification manager, and vastly improved browser in terms of both functionality and performance. We can’t wait to see Ice Cream Sandwich running on our Note and S II.
