News: Samsung overtakes Nokia to become the leader in India

The worldwide smartphone market was reportedly led by the Korean giant Samsung as it sold millions of units worldwide, thanks to it’s super popular and successful Galaxy series. However, things in India – one the world’s largest smartphone market was different, until recently. Yes, Nokia was the leader till a while back, Nokia has be dethroned by none other than the Samsung, which has made a very significant and visible impact on the Indian market. According to Economic Times, Samsung’s volume market share in November was about 38%, and value share was 35.2%, which was enough to take it ahead of the all time favorite of the Indian consumer – Nokia.

This success can be attributed to the fact that Samsung offers great products and an unmatched variety of phones to suit everyone’s taste and pocket. Surely, tough times ahead for Nokia, even in the market it once dominated undisputedly.
