Sony had earlier said that it would start rolling the Ice Cream Sandwich update to its Xperia smartphones starting late-March or early April and now the company has posted a new updated Ice Cream Sandwich release schedule which kick starts the updates rolling from mid-April now.
In the first rollout starting mid-April, the following Xperia smartphones will receive the much awaited update in a span of four-to-six weeks:
Another change from Sony’s earlier plans on the update is that the upgrades will now only be available via a tethered update.The 3G and Wi-Fi options will not be available in order to ensure that customers make a “conscious and informed decision to upgrade.”
