News : Sony Xperia SP and Xperia L announced.

Sony Xperia SP had its share in the rumor mill around MWC 2013 when we were quite looking forward to seeing this device at the Sony booth . However, Sony decided to add some wait and now finally it is official alongwith another mid-budget level phone , the Xperia L.

Sony Xperia SP comes in aluminium frame and features a 4.6 inch 720p HD Reality display which is powered by Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine 2. The Xperia SP is powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Dual Core processor, Adreno 320 GPU and has 8GB of internal storage expandable up to 32GB via miroSD card. It features an 8 Megapixel rear camera featuring it’s Exmor RS sensor that does 1080p videos and a 1.3 front camera . The phone packs a 2370mAh battery and comes with LTE, NFC , WiFi and Bluetooth to keep one connected.

Xperia L on the other hand is targeted at a budget friendly segment considering its lower specifications. The Sony Xperia L comes with a 4.3 inch  FWVGA screen and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8230 Dual Core processor. It comes with 8GB of onboard storage which can be expanded via microSD to 32GB. It uses similar camera optics and comes with a  8-megapixel rear camera that can shoot HD videos a VGA front facing shooter for video calls. The battery on the Xperia L is a 1750 mAH one which should keep this phone well powered for more than a day.

Both phones run on Android JellyBean 4.1 and shall be available worldwide starting Q2 of 2013.
