Just hours after the European Commission approved the Google-Motorola deal, the US Department of Justice did the same.
The deal is progressing and it’s expected to be complete by the end of March. It could still be denied, as it still needs Israeli, Chinese and Taiwanese regulators’ consent, which may not be as ‘easy’ to get as the former two. If gotten Google is expected to pay over U$12,5 Billion for Motorola Mobility, giving them access to factories to create their own hardware with and a lot of patents to fight back against the likes of Apple & Microsoft in the ongoing patent wars.
