Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) feat. S Bike mode launched for ₹8,990

Samsung has launched Galaxy J3 (2016), the company’s latest 4G smartphone in the J series and the successor of last year’s Galaxy J3. The smartphone, which is targeted at millions of bike users in India who cannot take calls while riding, comes bundled with an NFC tag which when paired with the phone serves as a call assistant for bikers.

The smartphone offers a new feature called S bike mode which claims to change the way users ride and make their bike riding more safer than ever. The new ‘ S bike mode’ feature would mute the phone and automatically send a text to the caller to call back later. The Bike Mode feature will help the bikers to concentrate on the road while driving. Moreover, bikers can also mark a few contacts as important, so that they can be notified even while riding. It also has a Smart Reply feature where selected contacts will receive an auto-SMS with an estimate of when the user is likely to be available for a call basis a trip destination entered by the user. There is also a dashboard of time and distance travelled using the S bike mode where users stand a chance to win up to Rs1,500 per month from Freecharge for being a responsible rider. The device ships with an S bike mode NFC Tag that needs to be stuck on the bike. This tag can be affixed at a convenient place (eg. helmet or a fuel tank) and the user can gently tap the device on this tag to activate/deactivate the S bike mode.
