Samsung today launched the much talked about phablets – the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. As the name would suggest, these come with a massive screen sizes of 5.8 inches and 6.3 inches respectively. So the next question is whats new about these phones? It’s not hard to guess that Samsung is going all out to address customers in every segment of the smartphone market.
These would cater to people who always wear loose baggy jeans to accommodate these huge devices and also those who eye for big screen sizes and weren’t satisfied with the current offferings. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 comes with a 6.3 inch 720p display while the Galaxy Mega 5.8 boasts a 5.3 inch qHD display.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is clocked by a 1.4GHz dual core processor while the Mega 6.3 is powered by a 1.7GHz dual core processor. Both comes with Android 4.2 JellyBean and 1.5GB of RAM , 16 GB of internal memory which is expandable to 64 GB via microSD.
The similarities are extended over to other features too – both come with a 8 Megapixel rear camera , 1.9 Megapixel front camera , WiFi , Bluetooth and GPS. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 measures at 9mm thickness and weighs nd weighs 182g while Mega 6.3 measures at 8mm thickness and weighs 199 grams.
Big Screen sizes means bigger battery backup to match the proportion, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 comes with a 2,600mAh battery, while the 6.3 houses a 3,200mAh battery.
