Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8 first impressions [UPDATED WITH VIDEOS]

Another day, Another Galaxy. The recently announced phablet devices from Samsung, Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 arrived in India today on 28th May 2013. The Mega series features two devices the Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 describing their screen sizes. Both the smartphones run on Android 4.2.2 the latest one with some of features of the Galaxy S4 like camera shooting modes, air view etc. Detailed specifications are mentioned below.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a 6.3inch phablet Super clear HD display running Android 4.2.2 with the typical Samsung touchwiz UI layering. It features a 8MP auto focus rear camera with 1.9MP front facing camera. Powered by a 1.7GHz dual core processor and 1.5 GB of RAM with 16 GB internal memory. Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is a 5.8inch phablet with qHD display running 4.2.2 on with the same touchwiz UI layering. IT also features a 8MP autofocus camera with autofocus with 1.9MP front facing camera. The difference from Mega 6.3 comes with the display, no NFC support in here and the processor which is the 1.4GHz dual core. More specifications mentioned below.

We got a chance to try this device at the launch venue. We think that both of these devices are freakishly huge but still there is a userbase for these kind of products here in India. Both the devices has that typical Samsung build with S4 like bezel but humongous. Both the devices are bundled with Rcom and Vodafone to provide 2GB free 3G/EDGE data for 2 months on Vodafone and 3 months on Rcom. Both of them come in two color options that is black and white similar to hat we saw with the S4.

The Mega 5.8 is priced for 25,100 with availability from next week whereas Mega 6.3 will be available from 10th June 2013. So what do you think about it? Do leave your comments in the section below.
