Vivo launches the world’s slimmest smartphone X5Max in India

Vivo the global handset manufacturer entered the Indian marketspace today with the launch of its HiFi slimmest handset X5Max. X5Max was announced just weeks ago globally and today the chinese company have brought it here.

Vivo started its operations in 2011 and since then they have been doing well. X5Max being the world’s slimmest smartphone is targeted at the Indian aspirational youth audience. The most important thing for a brand is to make its audience believe in them, as to why they are different from others which needs Vivo should plan well.

Vivo is working with dealers and partners across states in India to set-up after sales facilities. They have partnered with Viacom 18, one of the biggest entertainment network in India as its marketing and communication channel. HiFi audio is one of the primary pillar for vivo which distinguishes it from the others. Though I wouldn’t personally take this as enough to opt for it, but let’s hope they have something good for India.

X5Max has been launched for Rs. 32,980 with just 4.75mm thickness. Packing within it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit 1.7GHz Octa-core processor with 2GB RAM. It also has a expandable memory card slot which supports external microSD card up to 128GB. What surprises us here is the ability to use the same slot as a secondary sim card slot as well. It features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

On the front, it has a 5.5-inch full HD 1080×1920 pixels resolution Super AMOLED display panel even with this thickness. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat based Funtouch OS which is their own addition to stock Android, somewhat like MIUI, Gionee Amigo or Oppo’s ColorOS. One thing to note here is, vivo haven’t compromised anything to get this thickness unlike the Oppo R5. It is known to have slimmest PCB board which does have 3.5mm audio out jack. The smartphone will be available at all leading smartphone retail stores across most of the states in India soon.
