Xiaomi unveils Mi4, its new flagship smartphone with a metal frame [Updated with prices]

Xiaomi just introduced the Mi 4 at a launch event in Beijing. The Mi 4 sports a 5-inch 1080p screen, and is powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor. It comes equipped with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory and runs on a 3080 mAh battery. The Mi 4 also includes a 13-megapixel rear camera, and an upgraded front-facing camera of 8 megapixels. Xiaomi claims that the device can last around a day and a half with a single charge on “normal” usage. It also makes use of speedy charging, which can charge up to 60 percent in just an hour.

Xiaomi Mi4 takes a huge step up from its predecessor Mi3 and features a metal frame. The smartphone is undoubtedly a high end smartphone with insane specifications and is expected to be available at an affordable price. Though Mi4 looks very similar to iPhone but it will be giving good compedition to Samsung and LG flagship smartphones having similar specifications and are made of plastic.

  • Battery: 3080 mAh Lithium-ion polymer

The smartphone has been announced in two variants based on storage. The 16GB variant comes for $320 while the 32GB variant comes for $470.
