XOLO launches HIVE proprietary UI platform along with XOLO 8X-1000 in India

XOLO the Indian smartphone brand which believes in manufacturing premium smartphones has launched a new proprietary smartphone operating system HIVE along with the first smartphone running it. XOLO 8X-1000 so called true octa-core smartphone which is based on the same MediaTek octa-core chipset as Gionee S5.5.

HIVE is actually different build after extensive consumer research. XOLO had setup a team dedicated for HIVE since the last 8 months who build this proprietary user interface system forked from Android. HIVE has been built using the consumer requests and they will continue to do so allowing users to contribute their suggestions, requests or complaints using CONNECT.

CONNECT is a web platform build specifically for user interaction so they can get what they want. Ideas flow on the forum and best ones are up voted which are then selected for the final model.

XOLO also build their content delivery platform which they call EDGE. EDGE basically provides a platform for artists to be known within the community. Artists can submit their themes, ringtones, wallpapers which are later available for consumers to download.

For now, HIVE is available on only one smartphone which is XOLO 8X-1000. The smartphone features 2GB of RAM, powered by an octa-core processor and 16GB of on-board storage. It supports expandable memory up to 32GB via microSD card and comes with a 8MP Exmor R sensor camera.

XOLO 8X-1000 with HIVE Inside will be priced at Rs. 13,999 and will be available across XOLO authorized retail outlets across India, starting next week.
