We saw Apple discontinue the white MacBook from its consumer lineup last July, but it kept on selling the Notebook to educational institutions. Now Apple has notified resellers that it has ended that distribution channel to educational institutions as well, classifying the MacBook as “End of Life”.
It is not yet known as to when Apple stopped production of the Notebook. It would seem that Apple had already ceased the production in July but sold the leftover devices to institutions.
Seeing the latest features introduced by Apple, such as iBooks 2 and new iTunes to make learning better on the iPad, we may end up seeing the iPad in institutions instead of Macbooks.
