News: Google hires a senior director at Apple for a top “secret project” ?

According to the folks at VentureBeat, Google has hired Simon Prakash, Apple’s senior director for product integrity, to work on a “secret project.” He would reportedly start on Monday.

Reportedly, Prakash will be working with the company on a “secret project” and knowing that he is the one responsible for the quality of products across all Apple hardware offerings, we feel he’ll be working on either at the Google X labs or else may take responsibilities relating to Motorola should the $12.5 billion acquisition of the company go through with Google co-creator Sergey Brin and will report directly to him.

Neither Apple nor Motorola has publicly confirmed the deal and who might replace Prakash is unknown but we’ll keep you updated as we get more word from the two companies.
