As far as we remember the next-gen iPad was always rumored to feature a Retina display, a display with some unknown high resolution. We have always covered those rumors, and as the time gets closer for the new Apple tablet launch, the rumors are somewhat getting confirmed, albeit in a weird manner. The folks at MacRumors have allegedly got hands on with a display panel which they say is the Retina display supposedly used in the iPad 3.
The display panel is the same 9.7″ diagonally as found in the earlier Apple tablets, but, when they examined it under the microscope, they found out it had double the pixels from the earlier iPads both vertically and horizontally, making it 2048×1536 from the 1024×768 of the iPad and iPad 2.
Well the new iPad seems truly exciting, since a display with that amazing resolution would be awesome. Seeing as there are rumors of Apple launching it on March 7, we don’t have to wait too long. Other than the high-resolution display, the next-gen iPad is said to be equipped with a new quad-core A6 processor, 4G LTE, better cameras, and a larger battery.
