As you might have ‘heard’ (we certainly know) that the GPU used in the previous iPhones and iPads is by Imagination Technologies.
Apple has without any doubt, a strong relationship with the company. Imagination has announced that its Power VR Series6 GPU family will be welcomed with PowerVR G6200 and G6400 GPU IP cores. The new series is supposedly 20-times faster than its ancestors, and given the history of both the companies, it is a strong possibility that the new rumored A6 devices will be equipped with the new GPUs. If rumors are to be believed, that is a major improvement since A5 is already 73% faster than the A4 processor. Take this with a pinch of salt, but who knows what may prove to be the truth ?
