Though we all know that Stefan Esser aka i0n1c demonstrated weeks ago before the The New iPad release that he was manage to jailbreak the iPad 2 on iOS 5.1 through some pics followed by a untethered jailbreak video on The New iPad running iOS 5.1. But, we didn’t get any news from him on what kind of jailbreak it is and when it will be out for the public.
Lately, the famous iOS hacker behind iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak, p0d2g, broke the silence and tweeted in his twitter account that no A5 device jailbreak for iOS 5.1 is out and he has no idea whatsoever when it will come out. He also mentioned that he is working some hours everyday on finding the vulnerabilities in the OS and mentioned that he and the Chronic Dev team have some pieces of a userland jailbreak and that too not fully complete and if they had them all, it would still take time for the jailbreak to be out as its many weeks of work to put it all together for a tool to be used by the public.
Though we all know that the untethered jailbreak has already been achieved by i0n1c, we don’t know still what’s holding him back to release it in public and with iOS6 rumors catching up, we better hope that the jailbreak is out soon.
