We have come across screenshots that are allegedly the next update to ageing Symbian Nokia OS named Carla. The update just gives us a hint on what to expect from the new update.
The first screenshot shows a new on-screen portrait keyboard largely inspired by the Windows Phone one which is a good thing since the current portrait keyboard on Belle, although usable is not very good.
The lock-screen does not have the unlock button anymore and is said to be having the Swipe to unlock method.
The Browser too has been updated too with some UI improvements.
We also see a new music player with a refreshed UI but the huge control icons kind-off don’t really go with the whole UI design sense.
Interestingly, Carla seems to bring the same squirckle toggles that are currently present in the Meego Harmattan interface.
Reportedly the update is destined for the Nokia 700, 701, 603 and the Nokia 808 Pureview while the first-gen S^3 devices such as the Nokia N8, E7, C7, and C6-01 won’t be receiving the update.
