We recently came across news that the budget friendly Lumia 610 featured WFi hotspot or internet sharing while its elder siblings the Lumia 800 and 710 didn’t have that feature but Nokia soon confirmed that they would be getting the feature through an update and if reports are to be believed then Lumia 800 and 710 owners would be receiving the update next week.
Someone claims to have allegedly attended a meeting between carrier H3G and Nokia in Milan, Italy where it was revealed that the WiFi tethering or internet sharing feature which was introduced with Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” will come to the Lumia 800 by the end of the month.
Lumia 710 would receive the update too at the same time if the reports turn out to be true.

Well, Nokia chose NOT to deploy it for the Lumia 800 (at least in Brazil). I've just spend U$ 800 on this piece of garbage (I never checked if it had tethering because I bought one from Nokia, not from a specific carrier, so I was "free" of carrier politics - besides, in Brazil it is prohibited or carriers to prevent tethering anyway - and why would I check if a "state-of-the-art" phone who hopes to compete with the iPhone - I own an iPhone 4 and used its tethering all the time - wouldn't have such basic functionality?) I'll see if I can get a refund.
