Sony Ericsson Xperia Ion had quite few leaks in the recent weeks but today Sony just made it official at the CES 2012. Sony Xperia Ion is the first phone without the Ericsson name as we all know Sony had bought all the shares of the Ericsson in their partnership. Sony Xperia Ion is the first phone to break the barriers of the single core devices they’ve been launching. It is the first device from Sony to come with a dual-core processor.
Sony Xperia Ion features a 4.6″ Reality display with 1280×720 HD resolution with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 in charge, backed up by an Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of user space (expandable via microSD up to 32GB). The Ion features a quite promising 12MP EXMOR-R camera mounted on the back capable of 1080p HD video recording at 30fps, a 1.3MP front facer, PlayStation-Certified goodness for the gamers out there and also NFC support. Everything seems to be great on the device except for the fact that it’ll still run the Android’s Gingerbread flavor which is surprising as the phone will be released Q2.
