Nokia’s first LTE based handset , the AT&T bound Nokia Lumia 900 is set to roll out on 8th April carrying a price tag of just $100 with a 2 year contract . This deal, makes it the fall in the category of one of the best high-end low priced smartphones. This was confirmed by the carrier company themselves to CNET.
The is a huge marketing strategy by Nokia to drag users to use Windows Phone by setting the price so low deliberately, otherwise there are very less possibilities of people choosing a Windows Phone over an iPhone or Android phone and with the latest backward compatibility apps issue with WP8 “Apollo” , the chances further decline. Nokia is really committed to its Windows Phone platform these days which can be judged by the fact that Microsoft and Nokia decided to invest 16 million Euros for the development of apps in the Windows Phone Marketplace.
The specifications of the Lumia 900 includes a bigger 4.3″ Clear Black AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass in comparison to the Lumia 800 , an 8MP rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a duel-LED flash , 512 MB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The phone is third in line in the US following the Lumia 701 and Lumia 800 which were earlier released with T-Mobile. For now ,all we can do is wait and see that will this strategy turn the tables for Nokia and Windows Phone market in the US.
