Microsoft has announced on it’s blog that 2012’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, will be it’s last CES appearance as a “major” exhibitor. Microsoft’s reps will still take meetings with partners, there won’t be a Microsoft keynote, nor will there be a stall on the show floor. on the blog the company’s communications VP Frank Shaw says that its “product news milestones generally don’t align with the show’s January timing.”, well we can assume that this is to focus on it’s own events like the popular ones we had this year – MIX and BUILD.
However, Microsoft has also clearly said that it’s not saying goodbye to CES, it is just scaling down the partnership – which has lasted for over two decades. Surely, things will be clearer post CES next year.
