News: Tango and Mango to live separately

With Windows Phone 7.6 expected to launch anytime from beginning April. New information has surfaced about its true intentions.

Tango is expected to bring support for lower end Windows Phone devices, ones with smaller screen resolutions, as well as smaller processors and RAM. Along with this, certain applications will not be supported by Tango. Developers will need to re-write their apps to provide support for the smaller power now given to it.

Along with this, Mango and its successor Apollo, also known as Windows Phone 8, will co-exist with Tango and its successor, meaning there will be both a lower end and a higher end version, giving Windows Phone power to enter more markets. Phones powered by Tango are expected to launch in Q2 2012, but they may show up sooner depending on Microsoft’s determination.
