Samsung has launched their latest flagship the Samsung Galaxy S7 along with the Galaxy S7 edge in India. The design of the Galaxy S7 edge is similar to its predecessor with a change in color options and the camera bump on the back is a bit less compared to the Galaxy S6.
The Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED display while the S7 edge comes with a larger 5.5-inch display with dual Edge display. The Indian varient of both the devices will be powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage with microSD card support. The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge sports a 12MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, PDAF and OIS along with a 5MP front-facing camera.
The Galaxy S7 edge comes with an Heart Rate sensor at the back and a Fingerprint sensor which is located on the home button below the display similar to the Galaxy S7.
Both the Galaxy devices are IP68 certified and can be submerged into water for 30 minutes up to 1.5 meters.
As we already know Samsung had a hard time dealing with the haeting issues of these powerful processors on Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, so to overcome this issue Samsung came up with Thermal Spreader Technology that is a 0.4mm layer of liquid water inside the phone that will absorb any heat that the phone generates and then this water will convert into steam.
Galaxy S7 devices come with moisture sensor in the USB port that disables the charging when the USB port is wet.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 is available in Black, Silver and Gold colors options for ₹48,900 and S7 edge for ₹56,900. Pre-booking starts today ie 8 March 2016.
Looks like Samsung has tried to eliminate all the flaws of Galaxy S6, the dropped waterproofing is back once again with IP68 rating, the battery has boosted from 2550mAh to 3000mAh. So, the Samsung S7 feels like a welcome upgrade over its predecessor.
