SanDisk launches world’s highest capacity microSD card in India

SanDisk today on May 5, 2014 announced the launch of their latest offering, 128GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I memory card in India. Removable memory do come to some use no matter how much we criticize it. It adds on to the external storage which allows us store more content on our favorite device.

SanDisk the leading storage solutions firm have launched this revolutionary product first time in India. The latest smartphone supporting up to this expandable memory is the HTC One M8 which is currently the only smartphone in this category but we expect to see more in future. This kind of storage cannot be compromised with slow data transfer rates hence it comes with UHS-I technology which is quite known for its speed.

Compared to when microSD cards was first launched with 128MB storage capacity in 2004 to 128GB launched today, SanDisk has observed a growth rate of 1000 times in a decade which is commendable. Packing in a size less than a fingernail, SanDisk has come up with an innovative technique that allows for 16 memory die to be vertically stacked, each shaved to be thinner than a strand of hair.

There is a new version of SanDisk Memory Zone app which lets users to access files and backup all their data in an easy convenient place which can be automated. The mobile app has a feature called OptiMem which automatically transfers less accessible data from phone memory to memory card observing the usage. It also alerts users about low internal memory levels and what solutions can be to make the phone work healthy.

The SanDisk 128GB Ultra microSDXC card is available in India for ₹9,999 from sometime around this month.
