Teewe 2, the HDMI streaming dongle launched in India for Rs. 2,399

Mango Man consumer electronics, a start-up from Bengaluru on May 19, 2015 announced second iteration of their product, Teewe 2 in India. This upgraded variant of the HDMI streaming dongle is a home entertainment device which turns regular old HDTV to a smart TV.

Teewe 2 is powered by a Dual Core ARM Cortex A9 Processor with a Quad core GPU 1.6+ GHz and 1GB DDR 3 RAM. It will work with any TV with a HDMI Port and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connection to stream online content. Compared to the first generation, it has improved its processor with Quad-core GPU for smooth video rendering which as a result improves the overall streaming experience. The new dongle is 30 percent smaller and has a (undisclosed) premium WiFi chipset with an internal antenna.

Looking by the demo, Teewe supports Android, iOS and yes, first amongst streaming sticks to support Windows Phone. It also has an app for Windows PC, OS X, and Linux which provides an aid to stream local as well as online content. It can mirror the entire operating system using the desktop applications while the mobile apps don’t support screen mirroring as of now. Pretty much with the same use case like the Google Chromecast but some add-ons. It also has a Chrome Plugin which supports multimedia content playback from the web browser in their own customized manner.

Mango Man has tied up with ErosNow to provide online entertainment partnership with which users will get 2 months of free ErosNow premium subscription. Also, users can enjoy an extra 60GB (20 GB per month) bandwidth on Airtel broadband when they opt for Teewe 2. Teewe 2 will be available for Rs. 2,399 exclusively from Amazon.in starting May 25, 2015. Pre-orders are already live at http://teewe.in and those who pre-order will get an extended year’s warranty on the device along with the data services.
