As we all know that the Project Treble has made it easier for the developers to create OEMs to port newer Android versions. It has also simplified the custom AOSP ROM development. An XDA developer has recently released Android P beta unofficially to a variety of Qualcomm Snapdragon Treble-enabled devices. And recently they released the first Android P port for Xiaomi Mi A1.
As Mi A1 runs on Android One and it doesn’t support Project Treble. So, you’ll have to “Trebelize” it first in order to install the update. Initially, the build had quite a bit of stability issues like a broken fingerprint scanner, camera, and Bluetooth, but all of them are now fixed. The only missing part here is the broken VoLTE module and this VoLTE doesn’t work on it.
One major thing to note before going for the update is that installing the custom ROM requires repartitioning your device. So you’ll have to erase everything on your smartphone to make the required space. And don’t forget to backup all of your data before you opt for the update.
If you’re done with the backup process follow the link below to get the detailed instruction for the installation of Android P update on Xiaomi Mi A1. Their detailed instructions also contain some tweaks for fixing weird bugs so don’t miss them. If you follow every step accurately, you’ll get the new Android P update on your Mi A1 smartphone.
