The storage industry leader – Western digital company launched its innovative WD SE line of hard drives. This is specifically designed for scale-out data-center deployments. This reliable, efficient and robust hard drive is suited for 24x7x365 data-center operation. It can be efficiently used in large scale environments, mid-sized network attached storage (NAS) and can also be used as backup for applications.

WD Se is a right class driven hard drive which has high capabilities and is also affordable. This hard drive is available up to 4 TB capacity. It enables and helps users to balance their data growth in multi-drive enclosures with enhanced features. All the hard drives ranging from WD Se, WD Xe, WD Re and WD Red™ are built to provide secure reliability and storage and also to match every size and scale of NAS deployment.

Features of WD SE:

  • A dual processor is used to enhance the performance considerably.
  • Rotary Acceleration Feed Forward (RAFF™) technology is used which enhances and monitors the drive with the help of electronics and also corrects both linear and rotational vibration in real time.
  • Positional accuracy over the data track(s) is improved with the help of Dual actuator technology.
  • It is built to deliver consistent level of performance with accurate tracking during read and write operations.
  • There is a multi-axis shock sensor used in the hard drive. This sensor detects the subtlest shock and immediately protects the data.
  • Dynamic fly height technology is used where each read-write head’s fly height is adjusted. This in-turn provides optimum reliability.
