Yahoo Mail mobile web gets a refreshed look and a Android Go Edition Mobile app

You might think Yahoo Mail is dead but one of the few lesser known facts is that Yahoo Mail is still used by Millions of users for communication. The free email service, now owned by Verizon, boasts over 227 million active users worldwide with a whopping 26 billion emails received every day. Yahoo mail already has an Android App but it might not be used by masses and there are still millions of potential new users who may be getting a smartphone for the first time soon. Yahoo is optimizing its Mail service by introducing a new app for Android Go and a new mobile web experience.

Yahoo has updated Yahoo Mail mobile web app with several new features, updated design, modern fonts, and native-like interaction animations. The new refreshed design can be found at mail.yahoo.com  which features an improved web interface that has been rebuilt from the ground up to be interactive and fast. The web app is designed to offer a similar mobile app like experience. Some of the key features are:

  • Infinite scroll for emails
  • Side menu with all the folders
  • Quick actions for a chosen email
  • Customizable swipe-actions
  • Multiple themes
  • Suggestions for frequent contacts

Yahoo Mail Go Android app

Talking about the Yahoo Mail Go Android app, it is a lightweight version of Yahoo Mail that requires less than 10MB of install space and uses less than 50MB of RAM. The app is built with similar architecture as of main Android app and has similar features. The app supports various email exchanges such as Gmail and Outlook and has plenty of other neat additions such as customizable swipe actions, themes, people notifications, animated GIFs, and smart understanding for coupons and travel details.

Yahoo Mail Go is free and already live on the Play Store for some users. But if you can’t find it on play store you can sideload is using the apk.
