YouTube Kids app arrives in India

YouTube India has launched YouTube Kids in India. The arrival of YouTube Kids in India comes one-and-a-half years after it was first launched in the United States. YouTube kids is an app that curates family-friendly content for the little ones. The app offers child-friendly content and makes it easier for kids to find videos on topics they want to explore. The app is available for free on Google Play and the App Store in India starting today.

YouTube for kids has a playful design, large images and bold icons, which makes it easier for the children to find and navigate through videos. The app also supports voice search to let children find videos. The YouTube Kids app has channels and playlists across four categories, namely Shows, Music, Learning, and Explore. There are already some very popular Indian YouTube channels that offer content aimed at kids. These include some of the popular Indian YouTube creators such as ChuChuTV, KidsTV, Cat & Keet and The Yogic Elephant. Also its worth noting that content from the YouTube Kids app can be directly streamed on TV using devices like Chromecast, Apple TV, and gaming consoles.

YouTube Kids app apart from providing quality focused content to the little ones also provides some parental control. Parents can also put a limit on the things their child is permitted to search on the app. Also, parents can set a timer on how long their kids use the app. While Google does keep some track of the videos curated on YouTube Kids to make sure they are child-friendly, it also allows parents to flag content if they find something inappropriate on the platform.
