Smart phones have revamped the technological world. It’s like a computer in your hand. But do they perform the same tasks as PCs do? Can they give the same efficiency? All this is decided by the apps for the OS which the device runs.
Here in this column, ‘Install or not’, our aim is to suggest you apps that makes the task easy.
So for this week first we have tTorrent, the Android bit torrent client. Torrents have been very popular from the last few years. They are the sources for all the kinds of data. Android being on the hype because of its open-source methodology, so we have an app.
Features:
The app has almost all the features which a standard torrent client should have. It supports multiple downloading with queuing and limiting upload/download speeds. It also supports magnetic links with WiFi only and WiFi or WiMAX mode. Other than this it also has encryption, local peer discovery, IP filtering, UPnP and NAT-PMP, and proxy support. It can create and search for torrents and can also be integrated with the web browser.
Install or not:
tTorrent is compatible for almost every android device starting with v1.6, though it varies from app version to version. It’s lite version ie: the ad-supported version is freely available on the Google Play Store, whereas the Pro version (ad-free) costs you a few dollars. The Pro version has no ads, and no download limit whereas the lite version have the limit for 250kBps. The official publisher of the Pro version who are 3D Magic Kft is different from the lite one. The UI seems to be good enough, and overall it does it’s job pretty well. Alternative to this app, aTorrent is also available on the Play Store.
