Samsung the technical giant launched it’s first smart watch and the third phablet in the Galaxy Note series in India today. Every year since 2011 Samsung has launched a new Android phablet handset with some innovation and advancements. At IFA 2013, Berlin Samsung unveiled their new handset along with the better than ever S-Pen and a smart watch to assist with the big screen size.
Taking a look at the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, I would say it is good Android device which packs a lot of power within to be unleashed. It has the Exynos Octa processor with 2GB RAM and Super AMOLED Full HD display. Along with this it has 32GB in built memory which can be further expanded up to an additional 64 GB via a micro SD card. If this is not enough, Samsung has improved their TouchWiz UI with new applications and accessibility features to support the S-Pen and the Galaxy Gear.
The overall build of Note 3 will be rated as 4/5 by our experience. The leatherish back panel with not too big width makes it usable and seems to provide a decent experience to even those who don’t know how to use the features. It looks good in hands and comes with an optional S-View cover with additional features.
Now talking about the Galaxy Gear, it is not so big and is perfect size for a watch. It has a camera, speaker and microphone for making and receiving calls and clicking pictures. Apart from this, the quality of the material used for the Galaxy Gear is good and definitely feels premium. The VGA camera is average. It also has some applications like Voice Memo and S-Voice to support the reason why it has been designed.
Samsung has partnered with Vodafone to bundled the Note 3 with free 2GB promotional data for the first two months. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be available in White, Black and Pink color options whereas the Galaxy Gear is available in 6 vibrant colors and shall hit the stores on September 25, 2013.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be available for ₹49,900 and Galaxy Gear will be available for ₹22,990. Pricing for both of these devices are too high according to a consumer perspective, especially the Galaxy Gear but they need to know about its features. Still I will say it is expensive but yes you know the downfall of price with these devices. There are lots of features of the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear which needs to be unleashed to justify their price so we shall not comment further until we get a review unit and explore its features. Till then stay tuned for more updates.
