What all has changed with the new Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB variant?

Asus launched its Zenfone Max Pro M1 back in April at starting price of INR 10,999 only. It was launched in 2 variants, one with 3GB RAM with 32GB of storage and the other one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. They were priced at INR 10,999 and INR 12,999 respectively. Now, Asus brought the new 6GB RAM variant with 64GB of onboard storage for its customers. Let’s see how good the new Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is and what new features it is offering to us?

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB model is powered with similar Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 64-bit 14nm Mobile Platform that has eight Kryo 260 cores clocked at 1.8GHz per core. The chipset is supported by Adreno 509 GPU and 6GB of RAM. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and Asus has also promised to bring Android P update for this smartphone.

The two major changes Asus brought to the new Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is the 6GB of RAM and the new Camera setup on both back and front. Apart from them all the design, specification, and OS setup are similar to the previous version.

Performance:

The 6GB of RAM surely help the users by offering better and fast performance. We ran several apps on the smartphone and we didn’t find any type of lag or slow response. The multitasking ability touches its extreme with the 6GB of RAM.

We also played several games on the new Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and we find it faster is processing. The gameplay was very smooth and the Chipset and GPU also help to provide incredible gameplay. Generally, we find 4.5GB of free RAM out of 6GB and we were happy with it.

Camera:

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB sports a new 16-megapixel primary rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.2 aperture along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera. There is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with soft LED flash and f/2.2 aperture.

The specifications are way better than the previous 13-megapixel sensor at rear and 8-megapixel at the front, as well as the performance. We find the captured images having richer details and brighter color tone.

The Portrait doesn’t offer much as the feature works with the help of software only. Still, all the other features like HDR, Panorama, Low Light, Macro Modes captured decent images. Also, the modes like Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Flowers, Backlight, Candlelight, Sunset, Night, Beach, and Snow helps a lot.

If we look at the changes, they may not look very attentive on paper. But the overall device performance and camera tells a different story. Both the RAM and Camera offers great help and support to the user. More RAM offers significant boost in performance and the improved camera module allow much sharper images with great detail. The price of INR 14,999 seems good for a device with 6GB of RAM and 16MP Rear/Front camera setup. And these are the most needed features of the smartphone.

The price of the new Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 6GB variant has been set at INR 14,999. In comparison, the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant costs INR 10,999 and the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant was priced at INR 12,999.
