Recently an XDA Developer, discovered a way to customize the Always on Display on the OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5T, and the OnePlus 5. You’ll only need the Substratum Theme Engine, you can be enabled by rooting your device or if you don’t want to root, just install the Substratum application along with Andromeda.
Step 1: Install the Substratum, either by rooting or by downloading it along with Andromeda.
Step 2: Once downloaded, navigate to Substratum where you’ll then be able to enable them both.
Step 3: You’ll find a plethora of customisability available at the end. You can try and play as much as you want with the options.
Note: Make sure to enable Always on Display on your OnePlus smartphones.
Thats it, you’ll see plenty of options to do with the Always on Display. The developer is also trying to add more themes and color options in the future. Till then, try the one which are already available and you can also join the thread for further discussion and suggestions.
