Lenovo launches new ThinkPad laptops and ThinkCentre compact PCs with AI support in India

After their innovative ‘Made to Order’ idea where you can build your own ThinkPad laptop, Lenovo is back yet again with a next-generation tech of personal computers. As per Lenovo, the range of new ThinkPad and ThinkCentre PCs are to focus on better security solutions and making compatible with the Internet of Things (IoT) platforms.

This newly launched range of enterprise PCs includes four new laptops, the ThinkPad T490, X390, P43s, and P1 Gen 2 along with two compact desktops, the ThinkCentre Nano and ThinkCentre Nano IoT.

ThinkCentre M90n and M90n-1 Nano IoT

Talking about the compact desktops, the first one, the ThinkCentre M90n is sized just like a power bank, weighing about 505 grams with a thickness of 22mm. It comes with up to 8th gen Intel Core i7-8665U chipset and comes with Windows 10 Pro pre-installed. This device can be coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage and it has a built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 with a few I/O ports.

On the other hand, the ThinkCentre M90n-1 Nano IoT supports 4G LTE along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. It comes with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise pre-installed and as per Lenovo, it has a broad thermal range which means it can be used in extreme conditions like high vibrations and temperatures like in manufacturing plants. It is also certified to use Microsoft’s Azure IoT Edge and it supports up to 8th gen Intel Core i3 processor coupled with up to 4GB of RAM.

Lenovo ThinkPad T490, P43s, and P1 (Gen 2)

In this part, Lenovo has launched the ThinkPad T490 which has a premium lightweight design weighing about 1.46 kg and has up to 22% lesser bezels compared to its previous generation. Users can opt for up to 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors with NVIDIA graphics and can select a resolution between WQHD (2560 x 1440) and Full HD panels. With just 17.9 mm thickness, the T490 features two front-firing speakers with Dolby Audio Premium and also, dual far-field microphones for better audio intake while conferencing.

Coming to the ThinkPad P43s, it is amongst the best portable workstations which are compatible with 100% Adobe Color gamut and Dolby Vision HDR. This 100% Adobe Color Gamut is produced by the WQHD resolution screen with a max of 500 nits brightness. The P43s also supports up to 2GB NVIDIA Quadro P520.

The ThinkPad P1 (Gen 2) on the other hand is powered by the Intel Xenon processors and supports the 4GB NVIDIA Quadro P1000 discrete graphics along with the Client AI.

Along with these, Lenovo also launched the ThinkSmart Hub 500 which serves as an all-in-one purpose device which makes the meeting simple. It mainly targets on lessening of having multiple devices in a meeting room like VOIP, PSTN phones, and speakers.

Apart from these gadgets, Lenovo also announced ThinkShield 2.0 which is a 360-degree security platform which focuses on securing the gadgets through their entire life-cycle. This ensures that the devices are not vulnerable or compromised before they are turned on for the first time. Also, ThinkPad PrivacyGuard is another new feature for the new ThinkPad laptops which protects the end user’s screen from snoopy eyes.
