News: Sony Ericsson still alive, for a tennis tournament

Sony Ericsson is no more, instead being branded as just Sony from now on. This, however, may pose a problem for the Sony Ericsson Open tennis tournament. Starting Monday, ESPN2, the Tennis Channel and CBS will be broadcasting ‘73.5 thrilling hours of domestic coverage’ from an event having a zombie sponsor, whose discontinued banners and logos will most likely feature in every shot.

What will really make you scratch your head is the fact that while Sony Ericsson had originally signed the event for only four years in 2006, they renewed it last year till 2014.

Strange, very strange.
