Sony wasn’t quite done yet showcasing what they had to offer just with the Xperia Z which was announced earlier this year. With Mobile World Congress just having kicked off , the news comes that a new Xperia device called the SP could be showcased this year at their booths.

The rumored specifications aren’t that bad after all. The Sony Xperia SP would apparently sport a 4.6-inch 720p display and would be powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960T processor and Adreno 320 GPU . No news regarding the amount of RAM just yet but the upcoming smartphone is expected to come with 8GB of internal storage along with a micro-SD card slot for storage expansion by up to 32GB.

When it comes to build, the SP would expectantly have an aluminium shell with a plastic (removable) back cover. Also not forgetting the all new and fresh Exmor sensor which is being shipped with the Xperia Z , SP would be lamented with a similar 8 Megapixel camera.

Xperia SP should come with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box with dimensions of 130.6 x 67.1 x 9.98 mm and would weigh-in at about 155 grams
