Sony Projector VPL-FHZ55Sony today announced a new milestone projector in the series of it’s existing lines. This new projector, VPL-FHZ55 is a worlds first 3LCD Laser Light Source. The VPL-FHZ55  comes as a  WUXGA-class (1920 x 1200) installation projector which is based on a blue laser light source. Since it is the world’s first 3LCD laser projector , its capable of achieving 4,000 lumens – one of the brightest projectors of its kind, with enhanced performance improvements it now eliminates many issues associated with conventional lamp-based projection.

image002The projector’s light engine uses blue laser as its light source that goes ahead to excite a phosphorous material that in turn creates white light. The white light is delivered to a 3LCD optical system, generating constant, vibrant RGB colour through a colour splitting process. The resulting 4,000 lumens output produces brightness sufficient for a broad range of commercial applications.

Sony claims that the VPL-FHZ55 would offer a maintenance-free operation for 20,000 hours of usage , thus lowering lamp change and associated costs to lower total cost of investment.

To be environment friendly , the VPL-FHZ55 comes with a mercury free operation . Features like Auto – Dim lower the brightness when left without use to conserve power. It can also be turned on – off without dimming or brightness fluctuations , the VPL-FHZ55 starts at constant brightness .

image003The tilt free operation lets the VPL-FHZ55 be positioned at any angle of operation to deliver the same performance. on its side, or even upside down for seamless installation in nearly any setting. Combined with 1.6x standard zoom lens, V:+60% H:+/-32% lens shift, built-in edge-blending and geometric correction, the projector is fully capable of advanced commercial integration.

The VPL-FHZ55 would be available from September 2013 for a retail price as follows:
