Microsoft Mobile today launched another Lumia handset in the country, Lumia 540 which was due in the impending list of ‘to be launched in India’. Recently Microsoft have been launching quite a few Lumia devices to address different targeted audience starting from the budget Lumia 430 to the big screen Lumia 640XL.
Today’s launch Microsoft Lumia 540 comes under the umbrella of the best seller Lumia 520 category which aims to provide powerful specifications with quality experience at an affordable price tag. Microsoft placed it in a mid-range price segment launching it for the best buy price of Rs. 10,199 which will be available across the country starting May 18, 2015.
The handset sports a 5-inch HD display powered by a Snapdragon 200 chipset paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM running on Windows Phone 8.1. Microsoft is committed to provide updates to its present and henceforth, the Lumia 540 will receive an upgrade to Windows Mobile 10. The handset is a dual SIM handset that comes with the Microsoft services suite including 30GB OneDrive storage, Microsoft Office etc.
The handset comes in four color options Matte Black, Glossy White, Glossy Cyan and the Glossy Orange. Overall design of the handset is pretty neat. It has a laminated display which blends with the glossy look in case you look for a glossy color. The handset runs on Windows Phone 8.1 Denim update which is currently the latest stable version of Windows Phone OS. It features a 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The crystal coating along the sides with a black boundary along the perimeter of the display adds an elegant highlight in looks. Somehow it feels compact, thinner, lighter but not so lighter and ergonomic in use.
