It’s the phablets taking their limelight at the MWC2013 , after the Galaxy Note 8.0 an 8 inch tablet with S-Pen and phone functionalities, we have Asus catching up with it’s FonePad . The name is a swap rip of from it’s PadFone series that indicates it’s meant to be a tablet with a fully funcitonal phone facility.

Well, ASUS just formally unveiled it here at Mobile World Congress, , the speculation about its specs was all true: this does indeed have an Intel processor , precisely a 1.2GHz Atom Z2420, along with 1GB of RAM, a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and an HSPA+ radio and 4270 mAh battery to keep you moving.

In Terms of build quality, it has a metal back with Gold and Gray finishes helping it stand aside from the category sharing Nexus 7. The tablet houses a 1.2 megapixel front camera and in terms of memory it comes with 16 GB of onboard storage and 32GB expandibility with WiFi and 3G to keep one connected.

The FonePad will be available in Europe for £179 / €219. Here at MWC, ASUS also confirmed a US dollar price of $249 with arrival dates sometime in March.
