If you happen to own an LG powered smartphone, this news is for you. The Android OEM’s have slowly started to reveal their plans on the much awaited update to Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0. Motorola, Sony Ericssion and Samsung have already outlined their update timeline, today its LG who outlined its plans on bringing the sweet update. LG posted on its facebook page the plans for the update :
During the second quarter of 2012 upgrades will begin for the following smartphone models: the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse. These upgrades will be followed by upgrades for the following smartphone models during the third quarter of 2012: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.
LG has been rather slow in delivering latest updates so its nice to see LG planning and revealing when to expect the update but still the wait is rather long. Surprisingly US based devices and carrier based top-notch models have been left out of the list such as T-Mobile G2X, LG Thrill4G and Nitro HD, LG tells us further updating its post that the update on these devices depend on the carriers, the carriers take a call as to when and which devices receive the update. So the users have no other option but to wait for the carriers to come forward.
