The Huawei P50 Series

Huawei has just announced its new flagship device, P50 and P50 Pro in China. The devices can be regarded as one of the best 4G devices available to buy. The P50 Pro also sported one of the best camera setups and scored the top rank in DxOmark. Let’s talk about the devices launched today.

The Vanilla Huawei P50 comes with a 90hz 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED screen. Whereas the Pro variant comes with a  120Hz 6.6-inch FHD+ OLED curved screen. Both the devices have 1.07 billion color display with support 1,440Hz PWM dimming.

The Huawei P50 Series

The Vanilla Huawei P50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G version whereas the P50 Pro is powered by the Kirin 9000 4G SoC or Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G.
In the Optics department, the P50 has a triple rear camera setup which includes a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle, and a 12MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS support. Whereas the Pro variant has a similar setup but has an additional 40MP monochromatic camera and replaces the 12MP periscope with a 64MP periscope camera with zoom capabilities up to 200x. The camera setup also has a laser autofocus module and a ten-channel multi-spectral sensor. The flagship P50 series comes with an XD Fusion Pro filter system, which is claimed to improve the light input and dynamic range performance of the camera. Both the devices have a 13MP front camera housed in the punch-hole of the display but the Pro variant also has a 100-degree field of view and autofocus in the front camera. Huawei has also added DCI-P3 shooting. Overall in simple words, The camera setup is at an extreme level.

The P50 is fueled up by a 4100mAh battery whereas the Pro variant is fueled up by a 4360mAh battery. Both devices support up to 66W fast charging. The P50 Pro additionally comes with 50W wireless charging. Both have IP68 ratings for water resistance. The devices come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Both devices are shipped with Harmony OS 2 out of the box.

Waterproof

The HUAWEI P50 and P50 Pro come in Golden Black, Cocoa Gold and Pearl White colours but the P50 Pro has an additional Charm Pink colour too. The Vanilla P50 is priced at 4488 yuan for the 8GB RAM 128GB variant and 4988 yuan for the 8GB RAM with 256GB variant. The P50 Pro is priced at 5988 yuan for 8GB RAM with 128GB  for the SD888 version whereas 6488 yuan for the 8GB RAM 256GB variant with Kirin 9000 and 8GB RAM 512GB variant with Kirin 9000 for 7488 yuan.
