The iPad is considered the best tablet on the market at the moment, and Samsung have been trying to compete, but it seems that even in it’s home country, South Korea, Samsung is being beaten.
According to estimates the Apple iPad holds a 70%-80% market share in South Korea, whilst the rest belongs to Android OEMs including Samsung’s Galaxy Tabs. Apple apparently sold roughly 700,000 iPads there in 2011 and is expected to sell even more this year.
Meanwhile, everyone is awaiting Samsung’s next generation of tablets, which are rumoured to carry Tegra 3 quad core processors and high definition screens. A 11,6-inch version is also expected. Both it and the Galaxy SIII is expected to launch at a special Samsung event held after MWC later this month.
