Nikon, the camera pioneer have launched two of their latest offerings in India today on March 19, 2014 – the entry level D3300 and the high end D4S. Nikon now claims to own 55 percent of the DSLR market and promises to push boundaries with time coming out with new products and better results.

Nikon D4S the ultimate full frame D-SLR camera to deliver outstanding image and video quality. Nikon have been a choice for professionals, and the company aims to reach further with speed, unrivaled low-light performance ability and amazing image quality from their products. Continuing the legacy, D4S builds upon new camera algorithms to have a better auto-focus capability which is more accurate, versatile, and faster and is better suited to acquire and track subjects. In addition to that the D-Movie function of D4S offers recording at Full-HD 1920 × 1080 60p/50p movies. The D4S also features new EXPEED 4 image-processing engine, together with a new Nikon FX-format CMOS image sensor, and an effective pixel count of 16.2-million pixels that enables photographers to capture images with stunning sharpness, enhanced depth, and natural skin tones. A range of sensitivities from ISO 100 to ISO 25,600 produces images with sharper edges and smoother, richer colors. The ISO range can be extended to ISO 409,600 equivalent at Hi 4 for overcoming the most challenging lighting conditions.
On the other side, we have Nikon D3300 which is an entry level D-SLR DX format camera designed for beginners with proper guidance built-in. The camera is now light weighted and is equipped with a high resolution 24.2 megapixel DX-format CMOS sensor without an optical low-pass filter with the latest EXPEED 4 image processing system. It also have the advantage of the smooth Full HD movie recording with 1080/60p support. The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VRⅡ is the first lens for Nikon SLR cameras (F mount) to offer a retractable lens mechanism, reducing its overall size by approximately 30% over the existing 18-55mm NIKKOR lens.
Other improvements include revision of mechanical design for a lighter weight, adoption of the latest optical design for greater optical performance, and an even shorter minimum focusing distance.
The D3300 also features 13 special effect modes and various retouch menu options to extend the enjoyment of photographic expression. Users will also be able to take advantage of the WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter to wirelessly control the camera’s shutter, and transfer images to smartphones and tablets based on Android and iOS mobile operating systems.
Pricing and Availability
The Nikon D4S will be available from end March 2014 at a MRP of ₹419,950. The model is available only in Black color.
The Nikon D3300 has been available from February 2014 last week and is available in Black, Grey and Red at a MRP of:
