Lineage OS which was born after the demise of our favourite CyanogenMod has its first builds up. Starting for the Nexus 5X, 6P, and a few others Lineage OS rolled out their first builds over the weekend.
Just a recap, CyanogenMod went under a major downfall after the commercial venture Cyanogen OS. At the end of 2016, the project had to shut down leaving CyanogenMod dead. Sad, I know.
Right now, they are only supporting 14 devices, some of the popular ones include:
- OnePlus One
- Nexus 5X
- Nexus 6P
- Moto G4/G4 Plus
- Nextbit Robin
- Xiaomi Redmi 1S
We also found a list of devices that shall be updated in the future here but for now, they started off with 14 only. Well, that’s a good start, no?

To be honest, we are quite happy that our favourite custom ROM is back and probably for the better with a new name. The builds can be downloaded from https://download.lineageos.org for those who want to try.
